How it works
From first email to finished album
What to expect at every step, and the questions almost everyone asks.
- 01
Enquire
Use the form or email. I'll confirm availability and send the full price list within two working days.
- 02
Meet
A 30-minute video call, or coffee if you're in Edinburgh. No hard sell — it's for you to decide if you like me.
- 03
Book
A 25% deposit holds the date. The balance is due two weeks before the shoot.
- 04
Plan
For weddings, a timeline call a month before. For portraits, a short questionnaire about locations and what you want the photographs for.
- 05
Shoot
I arrive early, work quietly, and never leave before the last thing on the timeline.
- 06
Deliver
A sneak peek within 48 hours. The full gallery in six weeks (two for portraits). Albums designed together after that.
FAQ
Questions
- Do we get the RAW files?
- No — but you get every usable photograph, edited, at full resolution, with a personal print licence. RAW files are unfinished work.
- How many photographs will we get?
- Full-day weddings: 600 or more. Small weddings: 250+. Portraits: 30–40. I never cap it artificially; you get everything that's good.
- Do you travel?
- Anywhere. Travel within 50 miles of Edinburgh is included; beyond that it's cost price for transport and, if needed, one night's accommodation.
- What if it rains?
- It's Scotland — I plan for it. Some of my favourite photographs were made in the rain, and I always know the nearest dry, beautiful spot.
- Are the photographs backed up?
- Three copies by the end of the day of the shoot: two drives and cloud storage. Galleries stay online for two years.
- Can we share the photographs online?
- Of course. The licence covers personal use, printing and sharing. If a magazine or brand wants to use them, they contact me.
